Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 03:48PM Jammins Entertainment is please to announce the staging of the acclaim 4th Annual Brooklyn Music Festival on Monday, September 5th, 2011 at Sesame Flyers Panyard (CPAC) 1020 East 48 Street (Farragut Rd) Brooklyn, NY 11203.
The Brooklyn Music Festival isn't your run-of-the mill Dancehall stage show; it’s a taste of the Caribbean with a carnival-styled outdoor family fun day featuring various musical talents and finger licking cuisines "states George Crooks. This is about celebrating the music and culture of the Caribbean for Caribbean-Americans now residing in the USA. It has Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, Ska, and Rocksteady--it even features Caribbean-influenced Hip Hop, R&B, and Soul music. It is about the impact that Caribbean music has had on American culture."
Over the years the festival has showcased talents such as Superstars: Shaggy, Beenie Man, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Capleton, Tony Matterhorn, Yellowman, and Elephant Man; Reggae crooners Barrington Levy, Gregory Isaacs, Tarrus Riley, Daville, Assasin, Natural Black and Prestige ; Hip Hop legends: Doug E Fresh and Big Daddy Kane; Dancer Ding Dong, Soca stars: Patch and Berbice; Dancehall sirens: Lady Saw, Tanya Stephens, Marcia Griffiths, Spice, Barbee, D’Angel and Lady G; Ska bands: New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Rudie Crew, Brown Rice Family and Ska singer King Django along with many more. Heading this year’s show is Soca Superstar Machel Montono and also performing Farmer Nappy, Wild Fire, Lyrical and Khristopher.
